Saoirse Ronan is set to star in director Steve McQueen's upcoming Apple TV+ World War II film Blitz, according to a recent report from Variety.
The film, which was first announced late last year, will tell the story of a group of Londoners during the aerial bombing of the city during the war. McQueen is set to direct, write, and produce the film, the first since his 2018 projectProduction on the film is said to begin sometime later this year, with a release date currently unannounced.
, but the director has been working since then, filming the 2020 BBC anthology series, which told the story of West Indian immigrants in London from the 1960s to the 1980s.
