) - The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office reports it is seeking the public’s help to identify a victim of an attempted carjacking that allegedly Monday night at a Circle K in Pace. This surveillance camera image shows the incident.
Officials said that upon arrival on the scene deputies told the suspect -- identified as Brian Joseph Stacken -- to drop the object, but he ignored their commands and fled to the nearby Circle K. In the parking lot Stacken attempted to gain entry to an unoccupied car before moving on to an occupied moving vehicle, according to investigators.Due to the suspect being armed, the victim was instructed to drive away to prevent the suspect from entering, the sheriff’s office said.
