Santa Rosa City Schools is evaluating school consolidation and closure options due to a $20 million budget shortfall. The district hosted town halls to gather community feedback on four proposed scenarios aimed at reducing funding needs. Declining student enrollment and the loss of COVID-era federal relief funds are cited as contributing factors to the deficit. Community members expressed concerns about the impact of closures on high school students and the potential loss of specialized programs like arts and culinary.

Santa Rosa community members came together for the first town hall Monday night where they gave feedback on the four scenarios the district is considering.
