Police followed the vehicle onto the Kennedy Drive frontage road and through a trailer park off Plum Street, where the vehicle’s tire rim was caught on a grate — ripping a front tire off, Dally said. The California Highway Patrol and Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office provided Capitola police with support, according to the department.
Gabriella Marini, listed in Santa Cruz County Jail records as a hairdresser, remained jailed Monday in lieu of $10,000 bail on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI with two priors, drunken driving while out on probation, reckless driving on a highway, resisting arrest, nine counts of hit and run and felony evading police.
