The NWS says the areas vulnerable to outages include San Diego County Estates, Alpine, Viejas, Santa Ysabel, Mount Laguna and Palomar Mountain
The National Weather Service says that strong Santa Ana winds could cause power outages in areas of inland San Diego County late Wednesday night and on Thursday and will make driving a challenge on eastern Interstate 8.
The wind could gust to 75 mph in the Cuyamaca mountains and 50 mph to 60 mph in some valleys and foothills. The winds will be especially strong along I-8 from roughly I-8 to the Imperial County line. Dust clouds are possible Forecasters say the areas susceptible to power outages include San Diego Country Estates, Alpine, Viejas, Santa Ysabel, Palomar Mountain and Mount Laguna.“The fire danger won’t be high because of our recent rains,” said Brandt Maxwell, a weather service forecaster.
The weather service also says it is possible that a weak Pacific storm could drop from 0.25 inches to 0.50 inches of rain locally late Sunday into Monday.
