A sanitation worker was shot to death on a street near a high school in Northeast Philadelphia Friday morning. Here's what we know at this point.
The shooting took place near Roland Avenue and Tudor Street in the Mayfair neighborhood just after 10:30 a.m., Philadelphia police said.Police could be seen blocking the road where a trash truck and SEPTA bus were stopped.Sign up for NBC Philadelphia newsletters.
Investigators said the attack appeared to be targeted as someone approached the trash truck moments before opening fire. Mayor Jim Kenney and Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw were among the city leaders who responded to the scene.
