Taxpayer money will not be used to transform a portion of South Town Mall into an NHL practice facility , according to the Sandy City Mayor’s Office.
Longtime hockey fan and Sandy resident Robert Hoffman, who is also a Utah Hockey Club season ticket holder, shared the enthusiasm.Like many, he’s in awe of how quickly talks of bringing professional hockey to the state have materialized, and as a Sandy resident, he’s thrilled about the city’s involvement.
The city looks forward to further developing the mall, with digital renderings from Smith Entertainment Group illustrating plans for the old department store space.
