The Sandy City Council took its weekly meeting outside of City Hall for a field trip to explore examples of " missing middle housing ," a term used to describe more affordable price point homes that are in short supply in Utah . “When we moved here, we could barely afford it, but you just have to make the jump," he said. "It’s certainly not going to get any cheaper." D’Sousa said the trip was to give city officials and staff real examples of different housing styles as they consider future development in Sandy's limited available space.

Though Sandy is 98% built out, D’Sousa believes "missing middle housing" could help achieve denser neighborhoods.
