Facebook executive's first public comments to address grievances over racist posts come as hundreds of companies have paused advertising on the social media platform
07 July 2020 - 16:40Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg said the company needs to get better at removing hateful speech — a response to hundreds of companies that have stopped advertising on the social network for what they consider a failure to purge harmful content.
The post marked her first public comments about the issues raised by civil rights groups since they organised an advertising boycott last month. Sandberg and CEO Officer Mark Zuckerberg are scheduled to meet on Tuesday with leaders from groups including the Facebook’s advertising business, and the teams that handle human resources and company policy, report to Sandberg.
