San Pablo police seized more than 700 stolen catalytic converters and 1,100 pounds of copper cable wire on Tuesday.
San Pablo police, working with the county sheriff's office, seized more than 700 stolen catalytic converters and 1,100 pounds of copper cable wire on Tuesday. Police said they launched a joint investigation in August with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office after getting information about sales happening in and around San Pablo . After identifying three suspects, warrants were served Tuesday on the 1700 block of Road 20 in San Pablo and the 1000 block of Brookside Drive in Richmond.
San Pablo officers and deputies then found more than 700 catalytic converters, over 1,100 pounds of copper cable wires and over $113,000. Investigators suspect the three men are connected to an 'ongoing criminal enterprise to buy and sell stolen property.' According to police, the criminal enterprise is believed to have done more than $6.4 million in transactions, just in 2024.
