The city of San Marcos appointed Stephanie Reyes as its next city manager after a yearlong interim tenure in the position.The city of San Marcos appointed Stephanie Reyes as its next city manager after a yearlong interim tenure in the position.

San Marcos City Council unanimously voted Tuesday to appoint Reyes. In her 22 years of working for the city, Reyes worked as assistant city manager, chief of staff, director of human resources and assistant to the city manager.Reyes has a master’s degree in public administration from Texas State University.

“We are at a critical juncture to shape our City for future generations to come,” Reyes said in a news release from the city. “I’m looking forward to continuing the progress we’ve seen in the past year as we prioritize improving communication and collaboration between our organization and the community we serve.”

“Stephanie’s work as Interim City Manager over the last year has shown the value she offers to the City of San Marcos and has proven her continued dedication to this community,” San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson said in the release.
