San Marcos and Kyle drivers may want to consider beefing up their car's security system after the Hays County Sheriff's Office said multiple tire thefts have been reported in the area. The thefts target Toyota Corolla s, authorities said. 'We’ve observed a concerning trend involving multiple tire thefts from apartment complexes,' the Hays County Sheriff's Office wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday.

Police from both cities and the sheriff's office are investigating the string of tire thefts. Residents can protect their vehicles by using wheel locks or car alarms that go off if the vehicle's wheels are disturbed.
