Police are investigating a deadly attack near William and 10th streets on Saturday night.
SAN JOSE — A teen boy was killed and another man was wounded in a shooting near downtown San Jose over the weekend, police said.The shooting was reported around 8:50 p.m. Saturday near William and 10th streets, according to a news release from the San Jose Police Department.
Responding officers found a boy and a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not publicly released pending his formal identification and notification of his next of kin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.Police have not released any more information about the shooting, saying only that “the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
The shooting marked the city’s 21st homicide of the year; San Jose police had investigated 19 homicides at the same point in 2022.
