The death of a 74-year-old man after a crash on Quimby Road keeps the city on a grim record-setting pace for roadway fatalities.
SAN JOSE — A man initially expected to survive after a driver hit him while he crossed an East San Jose street earlier this month has died from his injuries, police said, adding to a grim total of roadway deaths that remains on pace to set a city record.
Police said the injured man was taken to a local hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries, but he died April 17th from those injuries. The driver in the collision stopped at the scene and was not suspected of being impaired, and there is no indication that he was arrested or cited.
