SAN ANTONIO - The National Park Service celebrated Earth Day on Monday by bringing a new designation, along with 15 new American citizens to Mission Historical

15 people were naturalized as U.S. citizens at the historic park on Monday, celebrating Earth Day , the park's new Underground Railroad designation, and the citizenship of those naturalized.

At 10 a.m. on Monday, the National Parks Service, alongside the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, celebrated Earth Day by celebrating the naturalization of 15 new American citizens at the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park. "We are welcoming them. This is the highest honor we can give to someone who comes to the immigration system, to call them U.S. citizens," said Felicia Escobar Carrillo., the US Citizenship and Immigration Services Chief of Staff. "We want them to feel that special kind of. Incorporated into our fabric as a country. I think it's special for the community as well.”
