Stephen Eugene Thai, 33, was arrested Wednesday on allegations of sexual assaulting two minors under the age of 14. .

Stephen Eugene Thai, 33, was accused of sexually assaulting two students under the age of 14 during his after-school art program. Detectives determined he attempted to contact the two minors through social media in 2020, police said. Authorities on Wednesday arrested Thai on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, contacting a minor to commit a sex crime and annoying and molesting a child under the age of 18, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities opened an investigation in September after accusations surfaced that Thai committed a sexual assault between 2016 and 2017. The Sheriff’s Office did not immediately say where Thai had worked at the time of the allegations or his work status at the time of his arrest. Sheriff’s investigators said they believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with more information can call the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office at 408-808-4500.
