From balloon drops and champagne toasts to musical performances and plenty of skating, San Franciscans will not be hard-pressed to find ways to say goodbye to 2024 and ring in the New Year. If you are still looking for ways to ring in 2025, The Examiner has compiled a last-minute guide to the best The City has to offer. 29) Museum staff encourage visitors to ring in the New Year by swinging at a 2,100-pound, 16th-century Japanese temple bell, an act they say allows participants to let go of 2024’s misfortunes. Visitors are encouraged to purchase general-admission tickets here prior to arrival to guarantee entry to the event. A separate ticket is required to ring the bell. The program is wheelchair-accessible and assisted-listening devices are available. Visitors who are blind or visually impaired can attend a touch tour of the temple bell and get priority seating for the event. Thrive City’s Winter Wonderland Kwanzaa and New Year’s Eve Celebration (Dec. 31)The 11-acre public plaza surrounding Chase Center will host a Kwanzaa celebration beginning at 9:30 a.m. The event will feature a performance by Soji Afrobeats from The Rock and Roll Playhouse in New York City.
