BART filled up with colorful commuters this morning on their way to Pride celebrations across The City today. San Francisco's streets — fresh from post-Warriors Championship clean up but still dotted with blue and gold confetti — were awash in sea of sequins, iridescent under sunny skies.
The SF Pride Parade began at 10:30 a.m. at Market and Beale street. Skies cleared and crowds gathered with gusto, rainbow flags waved unceasingly. Following the parade, festivities will continue at the Civic Center Plaza until 6 p.m. Other special appearances include Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Congresswoman Jackie Speier, State Sen. Scott Weiner and Assemblymember Phil Ting.
The March and Rally began at 11 a.m. at Polk and Washington streets. A gathering of pride-fitted folk stood in unity at the kick-off of the march, dance music played from the the repurposed-bus-stage before speakers and entertainment overtook the vehicle venue. The platform is outfitted with banners that read"Make Racism Wrong Again,""Rise Up," and"Black Lives Matter.
