A car chase ended in a crash into a parklet in San Francisco's Mission District, injuring six people. Two suspects were arrested.
Six individuals were transported to the hospital and two suspects were apprehended following a pursuit that culminated in a collision with a parklet in San Francisco's Mission District on Sunday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials. The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) reported that officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle sought in connection with an outstanding warrant in the vicinity of Buckingham Way and Winston Drive shortly after 3 p.m.
However, the suspects disregarded the officer's commands and fled the scene, prompting a high-speed chase. Police stated that the suspects subsequently crashed into a parklet situated in the area of 24th and Van Ness Avenue within the Mission District.Several individuals present in the parklet were struck by the vehicle, resulting in six injuries. All six individuals were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. The San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) reported that four victims sustained moderate injuries, while two others suffered critical injuries. Despite the severity of some injuries, the SFPD emphasized that none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening and that all victims were in stable condition and expected to recover. Two female suspects were taken into custody following the incident. Their identities have not been publicly disclosed at this time.The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management disseminated a public advisory on X, formerly known as Twitter, urging residents to exercise caution and anticipate potential delays in the vicinity of the incident.
