SAN FRANCISCO — BART service resumed Sunday evening after a fatal stabbing incident closed the 24th Street Mission station for more than four hours, authorities said.by BART Police Chief Ed Alvarez, officers responded to the station for a report of a possible stabbing around 1:40 p.m.
BART staff responded to the victim with life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately available Sunday evening from the San Francisco coroner’s office, pending next-of-kin notification. MUNI provided mutual-aid service between BART’s 16th Street Mission, 24th Street Mission and Glen Park stations using its Nos. 14, 15R and 49 buses.
