San Diego trio accused in murder-for-hire plot pleads guilty to kidnapping conspiracy [Breaking]

Three people charged with arranging for a hitman to abduct and kill a business associate — an alleged plan spoiled when the supposed contract killer turned out to be an FBI informant — pleaded guilty Tuesday in a San Diego federal courtroom to kidnapping conspiracy charges.and were set to go on trial this month on charges of conspiracy to kill in a foreign country and conspiracy to kidnap for the purpose of intimidation or murder.

“You need to get rid of this a--hole, he’s costing me too much money,” Gonzales allegedly told the informant during the second of at least five meetings over the next month. During an early November meal, Gonzales and Juarez allegedly told the informant they wanted to “put the turkey up to roast before Thanksgiving” — and then asked the informant to take a cellphone photo of them to commemorate the occasion, according to court documents.

While Gonzales has remained in custody since her arrest, Razuki and Juarez have been free on bail for most of the past four years. After their guilty pleas Tuesday, prosecutors requested that the pair be taken back into custody, but U.S. District Judge Cathy Bencivengo said they could remain free for now. She ordered Juarez to be outfitted with a GPS tracking device and could order the same for Razuki, depending on whether it would interfere with apparent medical treatment he is receiving.
