Ray Lebron named to National Blood Donation Hall of Fame
Longtime San Diego Blood Bank donor, blood drive chairperson, and volunteer Ray Lebron, who has donated 33 plus gallons of blood over the past 40 years, holds the Fresenius Kabi National Blood Donation Hall of Fame award just after receiving it during a ceremony at the San Diego Blood Bank in San Diego on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024.
“Before that, I used to debate whether to donate, but after that I just dedicated myself to the blood bank.” Choosing the winners, she added, comes down to the personal stories of nominees. A common thread is a lack of desire to be in the limelight.
