San Diego Seals star forward Austin Staats has been arrested for the second time since October and charged with multiple counts of assault near his hometown in Canada,The Turtle Island News, a Canadian weekly news site, reported that Staats was arrested Aug.
The National Lacrosse League posted on X, formerly Twitter, that it is “aware of the reported charges against Austin Staats and is collecting more information on the matter.” “It is currently with the authorities as they complete their investigation,” the Seals wrote. “We will not have any other comment at this time.”
Staats is already facing a seven-game suspension to start the 2024-25 NLL season after he attacked and repeatedly punched Albany defenseman Anthony Joaquim in the final seconds of San Diego’s playoff elimination loss in May.A San Diego couple thought they’d invested in gold.
