She says county officials wrongly pushed her out of her roles in two contracts after she told the university a student had said the then-supervisor harassed her
The legal repercussions surrounding the sexual assault and harassment allegations against former San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher continue to broaden, more than a year after he resigned. A UC San Diego professor this week sued San Diego County, saying that officials wrongly pushed her out of her roles in two contracts after she reported to university leadership that a student told her Fletcher harassed her.
According to the lawsuit, Hinds was participating in two separate contracts with San Diego County, both signed in 2022. One of the agreements called for Hinds to participate in workshops examining decarbonization efforts; the other regarded water-equity evaluations. But after she reported the student's allegations against Fletcher in April 2023, “the county requested a change,” and Hinds was later removed from the contract work “at the county’s request,” the lawsuit says.
