SAN CARLOS – A judge on Tuesday sentenced a 39-year-old San Carlos woman to four years in prison for attacking her elderly father last year when he told her to move out of his home, prosecutors said.Brittany Irene Bernstein pleaded no contest to a single count of felony physical elder abuse on Aug. 16, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Bernstein was living at her father’s home on Phelps Road in San Carlos, in violation of a restraining order. On Feb. 10, 2023, when he told her she had to move out, she grabbed him and he fell to the ground. She then climbed on top of him and held him down. The victim, who suffered bruising, broke free and called 911. San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies arrived to find Bernstein uncooperative and the home in disarray.
Prosecutors said Bernstein has 1,325 days credit for time served. In addition to the prison term, Judge Sean P.
