San Carlos air traffic controllers averted a potential strike by reaching a deal with their new employer, Robinson Aviation. The controllers had threatened to walk off the job over concerns about a reduced contract, particularly the elimination of a $18,000 annual housing stipend. San Carlos air traffic controllers ended up working out a deal with their new employer instead of walking off the job and leaving the towers unstaffed, an airport spokesman told KTVU on Friday."It will be business as usual," spokesman David Howard said in a phone interview. Four of the air traffic controllers will remain working at the airport, Howard said.
