She killed her husband, Jared Rodriguez, in December.Sandra Rivette wept as she recalled that her youngest son, Jared Daniel Rodriguez, would have celebrated a birthday Thursday. Instead, she was in court to face his wife and killer, Krystal Margaret Jessica Rodriguez.
Officers found Jared Rodriguez with a gunshot wound to his head. He died at the scene. The couple have two children, 9 and 4. The youngest was home at the time of the shooting.Police said they had been called there before for a disturbance and the shooting appeared to have “domestic violence tinges.” Testimony at the sentencing hearing established the gun used in the shooting had been purchased two days before the incident.
