Temperatures will be a bit on the hotter side May 14, 2024, ranging from the upper 90s over the Rio Grande Plains to the upper 80s east of the city.
After a stormy start to the week, we can expect calmer weather today as high pressure builds in. But severe storms did hit South Central Texas on Monday, causing moderate rainfall with totals ranging between 0.25” and 0.75”. Some areas also experienced hail and high winds, especially south of the city. Large tree branches snapped with quarter-size hail reported in Moore , TX. A corrugated metal roof was blown off a building south of the Hwy 57 and I-35 intersection.
San Antonio will experience temperatures between 90 and 93 degrees, which is about 5 to 8 degrees above the normal mid-May temperature of 86 degrees. The dry and tranquil weather won’t last long as we have another storm system arriving mid-week. On Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny and dry, but winds will shift to the southeast, becoming gusty at times, which will bring moisture from the Gulf of Mexico into the area.
