After watching Austin's woeful response to a zombie outbreak on the new HBO series 'The Last of Us,' Texas Monthly decided to rank Texas cities on how well they would survive a zombie apocalypse.

The show portrays Austin as not faring so well during a fictional apocalypse because of its traffic. People in the show also make the wrong decision and run out of the bars onto Sixth Street, where the military is shooting, without asking questions.After watching Austin's woeful response to a zombie outbreak on the TV show, Texas Monthly decided to rank five other Texas cities by how well they would do against a zombie takeover. San Antonio was ranked third, behind No. 1 Amarillo and No. 2 El Paso.
