San Antonio will host the top basketball talent from Historically Black Colleges and Universities next year at an event coinciding with the 2025 NCAA Men’s Final Four. The fourth annual HBCU All Star Game will take place April 6, at Freeman Coliseum , producing “a weekend where the entire basketball world will star in San Antonio for the eyes of the world,” Mayor Ron Nirenberg said in making the announcement Wednesday. Nirenberg thanked the CEO of the annual game, Travis L.
Former inmate finds new path through San Antonio’s Ready to Work program Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Calvert Jr. invited alumni from historically Black colleges to San Antonio to support the event. He said programs highlighting student athletes don’t end on the basketball court, but continue with graduates’ entrepreneurship and contributions to the community. “Let’s continue to uplift each other,” Calvert said.
