An upper-level storm system coming from the west into Texas in the coming days brings a chance for rain and thunderstorms every day this week.

You might find it hard to believe that just a week ago, San Antonio was transformed into a snowy winter wonderland. The freezing temperatures and frigid winds have since faded away, and now we’ll soon be experiencing a hint of spring later this week. Temperatures could reach 70 degrees by midweek and the potential for severe weather is increasing. Welcome to weather in Texas, where we’re fond of saying, “If you don’t like the weather now, just wait 5 minutes.

The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has a placed San Antonio and Austin under the lowest level of risk for severe weather by Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Hill Country, including Kerrville, Fredericksburg and Brownwood, are under a higher risk of isolated to scattered thunderstorms. According to the Storm Prediction Center, the potential for organized severe storms won’t be widespread, and any storms that develop will vary in intensity level.
