Two men accused of robbing teen who played ding-dong ditch on them
Two San Antonio men were arrested on suspicion of robbing a teenager at gunpoint who reportedly pranked them while playing ding-dong ditch.
Richard Dietz, 58, and Michael Aguero, 39, were charged with aggravated robbery, court records show. They are being held on $50,000 bail each. Police said that three teenagers were in the 200 block of Nash Boulevard on the Southeast Side on Jan. 14 playing ding dong ditch — a prank in which the participants ring a home’s doorbell and flee before the occupant answers — when Dietz exited one of the homes and started chasing the teens, yelling at them to stop.Dietz caught up to one of the teens, a 17-year-old boy, and ordered him to get on his knees, an affidavit supporting the arrests said. The teenager complied as his friends ran off.
At that point, police said, Aguero arrived with a gun and asked the teen for his identification card. When the boy said he didn’t have it, Aguero allegedly demanded that the teen hand over his cellphone. The teen gave the men his cellphone, and the two suspects got into a vehicle and drove away.

A historical San Antonio home designed by Lone Star Brewery's architect is now for saleCharles Haarmann paid just $1,000 for a half-acre lot in what's now the King William Historic District. In 1893, he tapped architect Albert Beckmann to design the five-bedroom house now on the market for $2.3 million. Beckmann, who designed commercial and public buildings along with homes for San Antonio’s elite, was a key member of the design team for the original Lone Star Brewing building, which now houses the San Antonio Museum of Art. More residents of Haarmann's one-time home include longtime San Antonio newspaper columnist Rick Casey and the late Christopher Price, a two-time president of the King William Association. From the numerous covered porches on two floors and ornate stonework touches to the extravagant interior woodwork in every room and the grand staircase, the estate feels like a step back in time. An array of stainless steel appliances in the kitchen offers a rare reminder of the current century. The 4,000-square-foot property also features a pool, outdoor kitchen, a dog run and raised garden beds made of limestone. A large workshop and a 900-square-foot apartment are also included in the sale price. This home is listed by Debra Maltz with Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty.
