After nearly eight years in business, Weathered Souls Brewing Co. is closing its doors — becoming the latest San Antonio craft brewery to shut down.
Another San Antonio craft brewery, Weathered Souls Brewing Co., is shutting its doors. The North Side brewery said it is closing Sept. 22 after eight years in business, a decision it attributed in part to rising ingredients costs and people drinking less alcohol. “Despite our best efforts to adapt, the financial pressures became difficult to sustain,” Weathered Souls said in a statement. “It was a tough choice, but after careful consideration, we felt it was the right time to close this chapter.
Alamo Beer Co. owner exploring options for the business, including selling East Side real estate “Over the years, we’ve weathered the storms, and despite the challenges the brewery world has faced, we managed to do things we’re incredibly proud of,” Weathered Souls said. “We didn’t just brew beer; we created experiences.” Mike Holt, Marcus Baskerville and Seth Parker teamed up to found the company in late 2016.
Second Pitch Beer Co. announces its award-winning brewery is closing for good Holt said last year he was seeking an equity partner to buy out his stake in Weathered Souls. The business opened a location in Charlotte, N.C. in 2022, but it was struggling financially and seeking investors to prevent its closure by late 2023, Holt told QCity Metro, a Charlotte news site. The brewery shut down in April. Baskerville left Weathered Souls in June.
