SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio 's longest-running Latinx film festival, CineFestival, is back for its 45th edition!
This year's festival has a diverse program featuring around 75 films, including national and international selections alongside a strong focus on local and regional talent. The festival kicked off with a tribute to San Antonio's filmmaking scene. The Little Carver screened student works and documentaries by local professionals on July 11th. The Alamo Drafthouse Park North took over with screenings highlighting the San Antonio Latinx community, including "SUENA LA EDUCACION: THE STORY OF BELLE ORTIZ" and the family comedy "TAMALE SEASON."
Director Gabe Redondo, actor Jesse Borrego, cinematographer Baylor Jones, and Anthony Madrano from the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center talk about how the documentary came about and Belle Ortiz’s legacy.
