Work is underway to replace a 37-year-old floodgate on a dam on the San Antonio River downtown, more than three years after it stopped working in 2021. The dam at Nueva Street , referred to as “ Gate 5 ,” controls water levels along the Riverwalk , according to the city’s website. The city funded the project, allocating $7.6 million, he said.
