The Mexican restaurant chain is set to open one store at 3065 E Loop 1604 in Converse and another in Schertz.

When popular San Antonio Mexican chain Las Palapas asked fans on social media to guess about a new location, it quickly was inundated with comments. The Facebook message, which Las Palapas posted Monday afternoon, shows a photo of a building with a 'Las Palapas Coming Soon!' sign.

Martin Hernandez, director of operations at Las Palapas, said that the new address is 3065 E Loop 1604 N Suites 111-112. While a concrete opening date hasn't been announced, Hernandez said the location is currently expected to open in July. 'What sets Las Palapas apart is that we are a homegrown brand,' Hernandez wrote in an email. 'We are proud to be from San Antonio and we are San Antonio. We are a scratch kitchen that prioritizes fresh food daily.
