San Antonio Police shot and killed a man wanted on three felony warrants during a downtown traffic stop. Detectives were tracking the man.

San Antonio police shot and killed a man during a traffic stop downtown Saturday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was being tracked by Repeat Offender Program and Crisis Response detectives who found him in the downtown parking lot, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said from the scene in a downtown parking lot at Broadway and 8th Street. 'As they were trying to remove him from the vehicle, he wouldn't exit,' McManus said.

The man was wanted on three felony warrants, including a first degree felony and two third degree felonies, according to SAPD. The charges include: aggravated promotion of prostitution; felon in possession of a firearm and continuous violence against the family. Continuous violence against the family is defined as committing two or more assaults against family members within the same year. It is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
