SAN ANTONIO - Looking to foster kittens? San Antonio Pets Alive! is hosting a new kitten foster orientation, pleading for eligible families to help support neon
atal kittens.
San Antonio Pets Alive! will be hosting the event with the Orphan Kitten Club from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 at Rescue Center Building 1, and it is open to anyone who wants to become a kitten foster. This event comes as the organization issued an SOS plea for fosters to help ease the load on San Antonio animal shelters.
City shelters are only able to receive 8 neonatal kittens or puppies a night, and recent numbers show that they’ve been receiving between 20 and 40 every night. This has led to many animals being euthanized. To ease the strain on shelters and prevent these euthanizations, fosters are needed to take in these animals until they can be adopted by their forever families.
