A San Antonio mother's daughter narrowly escaped the catastrophic California wildfires that have claimed numerous lives and destroyed thousands of structures. The mother expressed gratitude for her daughter's safety while acknowledging the immense loss and trauma experienced by those affected.

A San Antonio mother expressed gratitude that her daughter escaped unharmed after wildfires ravaged Southern California this week. Annabelle Williams, who grew up in San Antonio and has resided in California for the past five years, found herself among thousands forced to evacuate due to the escalating wildfire threat on Tuesday. Along with her roommate, she fled her home, only to discover the devastating aftermath the next morning. 'She lost the entire house.

They're just devastated, they've lost everything from top to bottom,' Korn stated. 'Everybody's lost everything, she said it's apocalyptic,' she added, describing the scale of destruction. While Williams endured the loss of material possessions, Korn emphasized that her daughter's safety is the most crucial aspect. 'She was thrilled to get out her cat and be alive but the devastation is real and the trauma is going to be real,' Korn acknowledged. However, she took comfort in the strong support system surrounding her daughter. 'She's got such an amazing support system. She's found a place to live temporarily until she can get up on her feet,' Korn shared. The wildfires have claimed the lives of more than a dozen people, according to Los Angeles County officials. Over 10,000 structures, encompassing homes, businesses, and vehicles, have been reduced to ashes. As firefighters continue their relentless battle against the flames, Korn appealed for widespread community support to aid in the rebuilding process. 'I'm very impressed by the volunteer firefighters. There's not going to be enough. Everybody needs to give if they can, anything, because these people are out there fighting this and they're not having the resources that they need,' she urged.Korn's heartfelt plea highlights the profound impact of community assistance in times of crisis. The wildfires have left an indelible mark on landscapes and lives, but the spirit of resilience and collective support offers a glimmer of hope amidst the devastation. As the community grapples with the aftermath, the outpouring of compassion and aid serves as a testament to the enduring strength of the human spirit
