From cold calls to the cloud, San Antonio information technology company Möbius Partners is making its way in an evolving industry.

The tech industry has a long tradition of companies being born in inauspicious spaces: Apple was founded in a garage, Dell in a dormitory. And so it was with Möbius Partners — founded in a spare bedroom in San Antonio . Jay Uribe and Junab Ali , who have been friends since attending Central Catholic High School , founded the company in October 2000, when they were in their mid-20s, working in Ali’s house. Each invested $5,000 before they secured a $90,000 loan from the U.S.

Rackspace growing up’: Take a look inside San Antonio tech firm’s new downsized digs Ali: Now we’re able to offer what Jay is saying to small and medium-sized businesses. If a company doesn’t want to or doesn’t have the means to have on-site, technical people, that’s when they can go to us and for a monthly fee, we will manage their complete environment, from soup to nuts.
