A north-of-downtown diner is asking the community to help raise cash for a member of its team who suddenly and tragically lost his son-in-law last week.
The Hayden, a local joint that bills itself as a “South Texas diner with an old school Jewish delicatessen soul,” will sell heaping plates of spaghetti and meatballs to raise money for employee Mike Gonzalez. Dubbed “Meatballs for Mike's Family," the special offering will be available for to-go and dine-in service from Tuesday, Feb. 15 through Saturday, Feb. 19.
Each serving will cost $15, and the sales will go to Gonzalez. The Hayden is located at 4025 Broadway.
