A San Antonio police detective has been suspended for summoning police to the home of a former lover under false pretenses and then lying about it. Det. Arthur F. Lopez was suspended for 30 days without pay, SAPD disciplinary records show. According to the records, Lopez arranged for Schertz police to accompany him when he went to a woman's home in that city on Dec. 13, 2013, to ask her to stop contacting him.

Lopez did not provide his phone records to buttress his claim that the woman had called to harass him, nor did he produce a recording of the alleged conversation, records state.
