A Bexar County Sheriff's detention deputy was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for assault bodily injury - family/household.

SAN ANTONIO - A Bexar County Sheriff's detention deputy was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for assault bodily injury - family/household. The incident happened around 7 p.m. on the 700 block of Carolina St. Benjamin Morales, 21, has been arrested. Morales, who was assigned to the Detention Bureau, has been employed with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office since February 2024. Since Morales had been employed with BCSO for less than a year, he was issued a probationary termination. A separate but concurrent administrative investigation is also underway, pending the outcome of the criminal case that is being handled by the San Antonio Police Department.

“This now former deputy knew the expectations upon him, as well as the ramifications of his actions. The agency mission will continue without him," said Sheriff Salazar in a statement.
