Though the UFL's playoff picture was already solidified before Saturday, San Antonio's win positions the Brahmas for a playoff charge.
Moments before the San Antonio Brahmas stepped on the field for their final regular season home game Saturday, the stakes for the following week were already set. San Antonio travels to face St. Louis next Saturday in a matchup to see who will hold home-field advantage when the teams meet again a week later in the XFL Conference championship game.
The Stallions found a spark on their first offensive series of the second half, as quarterback Adrian Martinez hit Jace Sternberger for a 49-yard gain walking a tightrope down the right sideline, then linked up with Sternberger again for a 15-yard touchdown on a corner route. After the two-point conversion pass fell incomplete, San Antonio maintained a 12-9 lead that carried into the fourth quarter.
