San Antonio airport to add 1,000 parking spaces as holidays near

Holiday travelers flying out of San Antonio International will have additional parking spots and gates available. Here's what to know.

Also, people will be able to prepay for valet parking. Airport Director Jesus Saenz said that will help officials get a good idea of how many people they can expect during the holidays. Airport visitors also might notice a change when they walk through security. Saenz said the Terminal B security checkpoint added a line last week. Saenz said that on average it takes less than 10 minutes to move through Transportation Security Administration checkpoints.The additional 1,000 surface lot spaces would bring the airport to nearly 11,000, Saenz said. The new ones will be used only if the rest fill up. People who park at the surface lots will take shuttles to the terminals.
