Animal welfare activists have raised the advertisements across the city to shine light on animal welfare issues.
"I think it's important to know that we are everyday people who recognize that the stray population is becoming overwhelming, and that we need better laws to protect animals," said Maggie Elizabeth Hill, founder of Animal Advocates. "Most people don't know that animal care services are euthanizing thousands of healthy and adoptable cats and dogs every year," Hill emphasized.
"I think that's excellent, obviously. But...you don't just parse out the problem to other organizations to deal with," Hill remarked.
