San Antonio is one of the best places for young and first-time veteran homebuyers, according to a new study. Veterans United Home Loans, the nation’s largest VA lender, ranked San Antonio second on its list of the top 10 markets for veteran Millennial and Gen Z homebuyers.

The most expensive ZIP codes for San Antonio homebuyers and sellers To determine the top cities, Veterans United Home Loans examined greater housing affordability, job opportunities and quality of life. The study took the metro’s median home price, population of Millennials and Gen Z and the unemployment rate into consideration. San Antonio followed behind Tampa, Fla. Each city is located within close proximity to a military base and in a state that does not tax military retirement pay.
