So-called Samurai killer Morné Harmse has been released on parole, according to the Department of Correctional Services. He used a katana to kill 16-year-old Jacques Pretorius, a fellow Nic Diederichs Technical High School pupil, in August 2008.

So-called 'samurai killer' Morné Harmse, from Krugersdorp on the West Rand, has been released on parole, the Department of Correctional Services said on Monday. Correctional services department spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said Harmse's sentence was expected to expire on 9 March 2029.
