has officially unveiled a new smart monitor for the global market. It is the new Odyssey OLED G8 model that brings a bunch of impressive specs and features. The new smart monitor promises to elevate the viewing experience on OLED by employing AI technology. So here are all the details.As the name suggests, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 sports a 32-inch OLED panel that offers 4K UHD resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 0.03ms response time.
This chip uses artificial intelligence technology to upscale content being displayed to nearly 4K resolution with Samsung Gaming Hub and its native smart TV apps. So, this also doubles as a smart TV in terms of functionality. When using an OLED panel, many users are concerned regarding the burn-in issue. However, Samsung aims to combat this with its proprietary Samsung OLED Safeguard+. This is the first of its kind tech that applies a pulsating heating pipe to the monitor.
This is also paired with a Dynamic cooling system and detection for static images like logos and taskbars to automatically reduce brightness, which helps prevent burn-in. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 comes with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology as well as Nvidia G-Sync. Connectivity options include 2 HDMI ports, 3 USB 3.0 ports, 1 DP port, and an Ergonomic Stand. Unfortunately, pricing and availability details have yet to be announced.
