Active noise cancellation started out as a premium feature, but has now graduated into just being an expectation when shopping for a good pair of earbuds. It can help drown out the distracting sounds of keyboards clacking around you or the loud hum of a plane turbine so you can focus your attention fully on your music, audiobook, podcast, or game in front of you.

You can even score yourself a pretty darn good pair of noise cancelling earbuds right now for just a touch over a hundred bucks. That takes the price down from it’s list value of $150 to just $110 for a limited time. Save yourself $40 and save your ears from having to listen to stuff you don’t want to hear.

So even with its support for noise cancellation, the FE model is positioned within the lower end of Samsung’s lineup for earbuds. So how exactly do they stack up to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro? The Galaxy Buds 3 FE employ only a single 11mm driver inside each bud. The Buds 3 Pro on the other hand make use of a dual drivers, implementing both a 10.5mm dynamic driver in unison with a 6.5mm planar magnetic driver.

That means the Pro models will provide you with far more depth and clarity in the tracks you listen to. 1080p versus 4K, but for your ears. Though that extra detail does come at a far steeper cost. They’re listed at $250, but you can occasionally find them on sale for less. If you’re not too particular, you can save yourself over $100 by going with the FE and still be greeted with a fantastic listening experience.

Most listeners will be more than happy with the Buds 3 FE for all their music streaming, podcasting binging, and video calling needs. Both versions of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 include active noise cancellation. As expected the Pro model’s comes with better precision in eliminating the unwanted noise from your surroundings.

It’s better equipped with adapted more dynamically as you move around throughout a space, but the FE model still can take care of consistent noise like that from an engine with ease. Samsung has made some improvements in this generation of earbuds when it comes to the fit. The rounded ear tips are able to create a seal in your ear to lock in the sound and keeping them securely in place, without adding excessive pressure.
